Rock Hall of Fame 2026 Inductees: Full List and How to Watch
Reuben ·
Eight acts are going into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the Performer category this year: Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan. The ceremony is being taped on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, and it airs in December on ABC and Disney+.
That's the short version. Below is the whole class of 18, who's being honoured in which category, and what we know about watching it.
Who is in the 2026 Rock Hall of Fame class?
The Hall announced the class on April 13, live during a Rock Hall episode of American Idol. Eighteen people and groups were named across four categories.
| Category | 2026 honorees |
|---|---|
| Performers | Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan |
| Early Influence Award | Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Gram Parsons |
| Musical Excellence Award | Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, Rick Rubin |
| Ahmet Ertegun Award | Ed Sullivan |
The Ertegun Award is for people who worked behind the scenes of the industry rather than on stage, and Sullivan, the TV host who put so many of these acts in front of America, is the one name in it this year. Musical Excellence is the writers, producers and players category, which is why Rick Rubin and Jimmy Miller sit there.
Who is a first-time nominee, and who waited?
Per the Hall's own release, Phil Collins, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan were first-time nominees, which means they got in on the first try. Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis and Sade had all been nominated before.
Collins is a slightly odd case: he's being inducted for a second time. He went in with Genesis in 2010.
One rule explains why the list skews towards older acts. To be eligible, an artist's first commercial recording has to be at least 25 years old at the time of nomination.
Who won the fan vote but didn't get in?
New Edition. According to Live for Live Music, the group won this year's public fan vote but wasn't among the inductees. Phish won the 2025 fan vote by a wide margin and didn't return to the ballot, the same report says.
When is the 2026 Rock Hall ceremony, and how do you watch?
- Date: Saturday, November 14, 2026
- Venue: Peacock Theater, Los Angeles
- TV: Debuts in December 2026 on ABC and Disney+
- Next year: The 2027 ceremony goes back to Cleveland
Notice that it's a taping, not a live show, so the broadcast is edited and arrives weeks after the night itself. As of the Hall's April release, ticket details hadn't been announced; donors and members who joined or gave by June 30 were promised early access. Check rockhall.com for anything newer, since I haven't seen a later ticketing update.
John Sykes, the Hall's chairman, called induction "music's highest honor".
