The Most Connected R&B Artists in Music
Musicle Team ·
R&B has always leaned on features more than most genres, duets, remixes, hooks passed between artists constantly, and the data reflects that clearly. The gap at the top of this list is also bigger than almost any other genre we've measured.
The most-connected R&B artists
| Artist | Credited collaborators |

| Usher | 149 |
| Beyoncé | 146 |
| Kehlani | 112 |
| The Weeknd | 83 |
| Jhené Aiko | 76 |
| Summer Walker | 66 |
| H.E.R. | 62 |
| SZA | 46 |
| Frank Ocean | 31 |
Chris Brown's number is almost unfair
266 is a genuinely enormous total, more than most rappers we've measured, and it's not really close to second place. Part of it is sheer output: Chris Brown has released an unusual volume of music across nearly two decades, and mixtapes and deluxe editions loaded with features have been a consistent part of that output the entire time. Volume compounds, and few artists in any genre have matched his pace of releasing new material with new collaborators attached.
Legacy R&B still holds its ground
Usher and Beyoncé both sit high on this list despite being, in Beyoncé's case especially, more known these days for tightly-controlled, feature-light album rollouts. Their numbers are mostly a function of career length: two decades-plus of duets, remixes, and guest verses adds up regardless of how selective an artist has become more recently.
The newer names are catching up fast
Kehlani at 112 and Summer Walker at 66 are both notably younger careers than most of the names above them, and they're already closing the gap. Modern R&B leans even harder into duets and alt-R&B crossover features than the genre did a decade ago, which suggests these numbers, and the ranking itself, will probably look different in five years.
The move to remember
Same principle as our rap and country breakdowns: if an R&B artist shows up in your collaborator list, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, and Usher are disproportionately likely to open up a wide net of options in a single move, precisely because R&B as a genre treats features as the default rather than the exception.
These counts come straight from the live graph behind today's puzzle, not a guess.
