The Most Connected Women in Music

Musicle Team ·

Most of the names that show up at the top of our "most connected" lists so far have been men, which says more about how features and studio credits tend to get handed out than anything else. Sort the same graph by women only, and the leaderboard looks a little different, and a little more interesting.

The most-connected women in the graph

Artist Credited collaborators
Nicki Minaj 238
Beyoncé 146
Karol G 92
Ariana Grande 87
Cardi B 82
Miley Cyrus 82
Rihanna 78
Madonna 73

Nicki Minaj, ahead of Beyoncé by a wide margin

Beyoncé has the bigger household name, but Nicki Minaj is the more connected artist by a real margin, 238 collaborators to 146. It comes down to how each of them works: Beyoncé's discography leans heavily on her own albums, while Nicki has spent close to two decades saying yes to guest verses across hip-hop, pop, and R&B. Feature-heavy careers build wide graphs fast, and almost nobody in this data set has done more features than Nicki Minaj.

Karol G's spot says a lot about where reggaetón sits right now

Karol G landing at 92, ahead of Rihanna, is one of the more telling numbers on this list. It lines up with what we found looking at Latin music specifically: the genre isn't a side category anymore, it's fully wired into the same graph as English-language pop and hip-hop, and its biggest names are picking up connections just as fast.

Madonna is still in the mix after four decades

The most surprising name here might be Madonna. A 73-collaborator count from an artist whose career started in the 1980s means she's kept adding new links across eras that most of her peers never crossed into, working with everyone from Britpop and hip-hop acts to modern pop producers along the way. Longevity alone doesn't guarantee a spot on a list like this, but staying genre-curious for forty years clearly helps.

Why this matters for the puzzle

If you're building a path and one of these names shows up as a possible next step, it's almost always worth taking. A handful of collaborators this wide can collapse a puzzle that looks intimidating into something solvable in a couple of clicks, the same logic that makes any hub artist worth prioritizing regardless of genre.
